Sunday Groups

The One Sixty Seven

In-Person Group

Dates: May 5 - July 28
Room: New Hope Room 4
Leader: Ron Creech

About this Connect Group:
Have you ever thought about how one hour on a Sunday can really make a difference in your whole week? That’s what 'The 167' is all about. Led by Ron Creech, this group dives into the part of our church’s vision that’s all about gathering, and how it echoes through the rest of our week—the other 167 hours.

Here's the thing: at New Hope, we believe that showing up matters. It’s not just about filling a seat; it’s about filling our lives with something more. Ron’s got this down-to-earth way of showing us how those moments in church, (as well as events, prayer groups, Wednesday nights) those insights and connections don’t just stay within the walls of the building. They follow us, influence us, and can change the way we see our day-to-day life.

Think about it. If God can change your life when you show up on a random Sunday, what happens when we lean in a little more? This group isn’t about tallying your attendance; it’s about seeing the big picture of what giving God our time can do—not just for us but for our family, friends, job, and community.

So, whether you’re a regular in the pews or someone who’s just curious about what a difference that one extra hour a week could make, 'The 167' is your invitation. Let’s talk, share, and discover together how every week can be a starting point for something amazing in our lives and the lives around us.

As Your Children Grow, Will Their Faith Grow Too? As both stories and statistics attest, the number of evangelical children who abandon Christianity in adulthood is staggering. To see effective change, parents cannot leave their child's faith to chance. Rather, families must start nurturing faith early-you cannot start once your child is grown, you must start at home. Strengthening family and home life is the best way to encourage your children to maintain a lifelong faith. It Starts at Home upholds marriage and family as the proving ground for lasting success. Join our Children's Director, Lauren Cochran and her husband, Bo, as they provide a clear purpose, effective strategy, and a simple plan for anyone who wants to be intentional in their homes.

Dates: May 5 - July 28
Room: New Hope Room 101
Leader: Alan Knickerbocker
Childcare: Childcare is available for this Connect Group. To sign up for childcare, please press the button below.
About this Connect Group:
Have you ever wondered what a letter from an ancient prison could teach us today? Well, that’s exactly what we’re diving into with 'Prison Letters.' We’re tackling four of Paul's letters—Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon—each written from a prison cell, yet brimming with messages of hope, unity, and faith.

Alan Knickerbocker, the leader of this Connect Group, has an incredible gift of teaching Scripture in a way that’s both deep and totally approachable. So, whether you’re a seasoned Bible-reader, or just curious, you’ll find something that speaks to you. These letters, they’re not just ancient history; they’re about navigating life with courage, joy, and a sense of purpose. Who doesn’t need a bit of that?
This group is all about digging into those big questions and connecting Paul’s words to our everyday lives, finding that thread of divine wisdom that’s as relevant now as it was back then.

So, come join us. Let’s explore together how these 'Prison Letters' can inspire us to live a little braver, a little bolder, and a lot more connected to each other and to God—no previous Bible study experience required.

Do you have a fear of sharing Jesus with others? In this Connect Group, we'll be equipping believers for relational evangelism, removing any fear of sharing Christ with others, so that you can boldly proclaim the gospel. Join Tom Thompson as we learn how to avoid stereotypical approaches, instead sharing the gospel in natural and effective ways, while being ourselves. This incredibly practical and beneficial Connect Group will help you identify and develop an evangelical style that is effective for you, teach you how to respond to commonly asked questions, so that we may be known as those who walk with Jesus and speak the gospel with boldness, no matter the cost.

The Chosen

Dates: May 8 - July 31

About this Group:
Wednesday evenings at New Hope are taking a deep dive into the life of Jesus like you’ve never seen before. Led by Todd Hutchison, our group is exploring 'The Chosen,' a unique video series that brings the stories of Jesus to life in a way that’s both engaging and relatable. But this isn’t just about watching a series; it’s about growing closer, understanding deeper, and transforming our lives through the themes we uncover together.

Each week, we’ll watch a section from The Chosen series and then break it down, talking about the challenges and triumphs faced by those who walked with Jesus. We’ll see how their stories echo in our lives today, in our struggles, our questions, and our journey of faith. 'The Chosen' doesn’t just recount biblical events; it shows us how God’s goodness can sprout from the trials we endure, promising that our hardships can lead to growth and blessings, if we open our hearts to His plan.

From understanding how death gives way to life, to seeing our grief transform into praise, the lessons are profound. We’ll explore how our confusions are clarified by grace, and how our deepest heartbreaks can be the birthplace of the greatest love. This group isn’t about passive observation; it’s about active participation in a journey of faith, fellowship, and discovery.

Join Todd and the men of New Hope on Wednesday evenings for a time of connection, discussion, and growth. Whether you’re dealing with your own struggles or looking to deepen your understanding of God’s plan, you’ll find insight, support, and brotherhood here. Let’s learn together how God uses every aspect of our lives, even the challenges, to shape us into the men He has called us to be.

It's critical for men to understand the importance of a spiritually disciplined life and a life of kingdom order. Join Randy Smith and the men of New Hope as we invite men to embrace God's definition of masculinity and to step into His calling upon their lives to wield their strength on behalf of others. Throughout the semester we'll be going through different bible studies, fellowship, and learning alongside one another.

The word FIERCE is used to describe women who are extreme athletes, high-level executives, or supermodels. Women at the top of their game. But what about the rest of us? Can we be fierce? Absolutely! In fact, women like us have been changing the world for thousands of years-many who received little fanfare yet lived fiercely anyway. Join Carol Castillo this semester as we look at lesser-known female characters in the Bible and the ways they changed the world by living into God's calling.

About this Group:
Do you ever feel like you’re navigating a world that just doesn’t seem to line up with your faith? You’re not alone. 'Sojourners and Exiles: The Message of 1 Peter,' led by our Associate Pastor Austin Duncan, is all about tackling that head-on. We meet up Wednesday evenings at New Hope in room 5, diving into the words of the Apostle Peter to find our bearings.

It’s like Peter’s letter was written just for us, for such a time as this. Join Austin as we learn how these words aren't just historical notes but actual lifelines for living in today’s society. This group is our weekly check-in to remind ourselves that, yes, it’s totally possible to keep our faith strong, even when it feels like we’re swimming against the current.

Each session, we unpack a bit more of 1 Peter, discovering how our current struggles and our incredible future with Christ are totally connected. It’s about realizing that our journey through this world is just that—a journey. And it’s leading us somewhere amazing.

So, come join Austin on Wednesdays. It’s a chance to chat, to question, and to grow together, figuring out how to live as believers in a world that often looks the other way. While we may feel like sojourners and exiles, we know we’re heading toward a home that’s more than we could ever imagine.

Wednesday Evening Prayer

In-Person Group
Wednesday Evenings: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Dates: May 8 - July 31
Room: New Hope Sanctuary
Leader: Josh Huisman
Childcare: Childcare is not available for this Connect Group.
About this Group:
Prayer isn’t just a duty; it’s our direct line to the creator of the universe—exciting, isn't it?
Imagine stepping into a space where everyone is genuinely excited to connect with God and each other, expecting that something amazing will happen.

From 5:30 to 6:00 pm, just before our Connect Groups start on Wednesday evenings, we meet for a half-hour. Yes, it's a tight window, especially when juggling schedules and waiting for New Hope Kids check-in. Yet, this isn’t about squeezing in just another church activity. This is about setting the tone for everything that follows—setting the tone faith, hope, and expectation.

We're talking about engaging with God in a real and vibrant way, sharing our hearts, lifting up our church, members, community, and seeking the Lord before the evening even begins. This isn't just wishful thinking; it's about actively seeking God’s presence and watching Him move in and through our lives.

So, why not give it a shot? Swing by and let’s make this prayer time a highlight of your Wednesday.

What does it look like for people to experience the love, power, and presence of God so strongly they're transformed from the inside out? Many people go to church when it's convenient, occasionally read their Bibles and pray, and sometimes feel close to God, but He's not the passion and purpose of their lives. They may be believers, but they're not devoted disciples. Join Dr. Phil Roberts in this Connect Group, as he gives a clear contrast between believers and disciples, and leave feeling inspired to experience more of God than ever before.
