Ministry Fair and Service Opportunities

This Sunday, November 5th, we will take some time in our worship service to honor Veterans of the military who have faithfully served our country. Officially, Veteran’s Day is on Saturday, November 11th, but we like to have this service the Sunday before the official holiday. As a church, we do this because being a servant should be at the center of the Christian life. Military veterans know exactly what it means to serve, as many of them spent time away from family and friends, and some were put in some of the most dangerous situations imaginable. We will say thank you and honor their service this weekend.

If I may, I would like to continue with this mindset of service. Specifically, at New Hope. On Sunday, November 19th we will hold a Ministry Fair in the gallery that will highlight all of the ministries of New Hope. These ministries are only able to function because of the volunteers and ministry workers who dedicate their time to serving. Over the past few months, New Hope has been blessed with many new names and faces of people in our congregation. We thought it would be a great idea to showcase our various ministries so newcomers can see how they can get connected to the church. Make plans to join us an hour before the worship service on Sunday, November 19th in the gallery. We’ll even have breakfast food available!

I would like to take a moment and thank everyone who wrote a note of appreciation to our pastoral staff this month. Reading your kind words of encouragement was a great joy. To quote the Apostle Paul, “I thank my God for each of you!” We are entering a wonderful season at New Hope, and it’s because of the great people God has brought together in this community!

Our next message series will be called¬†Behind the Music. Over the next four weeks, we’ll be teaching about some of the worship songs that we have been using in our Sunday morning worship services. There is deep meaning and scriptural backing to the songs we sing. Pastor Mark and Pete will be helping me to bring messages during this series. It should be a good one!

Blessings to you,

Pastor Josh
