I first met Judd Granzow four years ago on the football field at Brentwood High School. Each year Corky French of Community Outreach Ministries (a local mission New Hope supports) asks me to speak to the Brentwood Varsity Football Team for their Outside the Lines Ministry. I love going out each year and meeting the players, but even more, I love meeting the coaches. These guys are on the front lines of training high school students to be attentive, respectful, and aware of how they conduct their lives, both on and off the field.
When you first meet Judd you quickly realize how passionate he is about ministering and discipling people. Judd is a fully devoted follower of Christ, but he is adamant that actions speak louder than words when it comes to living out your faith. He currently serves as the Freshman football coach at Brentwood, but that’s just the start.
Judd is the Campus Pastor for Lighthouse Christian School. He is also the founder of P3 Peace, Power, and Purpose Ministries, a ministry that comes alongside youth AND parents in the local community to provide discipleship and accountability in a safe, judgement free zone. On top of all that, Judd hosts the P3 Man Up Hour radio show on Sunday evenings. (See the pic above for the station and air time) This radio show deals specifically with the issue of pornography and how it destroys the hearts, minds, and lives of all ages of people. Judd is unapologetic in his call for more men to become leaders in this area. To talk to their children about the dangers found online, on their phone apps, and in their decisions.
I was asked to be a guest for two Sunday evening radio shows and the conversations were so powerful I thought we should bring Judd to New Hope!
Here is an excerpt from the P3 Website: (www.p3peacepowerpurpose.org)
In a society saturated with profanity, pornography, sexual impurity and drug and alcohol addictions, Granzow struggled with how he as a coach, father and husband could bridge the gap left by a culture sold out by performance, appearance, pride and diminishing self-worth after witnessing firsthand how these things are affecting and shaping this generation’s young men and their families. He felt compelled by his relationship with God to develop a vision for life. His goal: To mentor young men and adults and form a support system to reclaim a manhood free of pride, selfishness and false masculinity. As a result, Peace, Power, And Purpose Ministry Inc. was formed.
So, on Wednesday, August 23rd @ 6:30 PM, Judd Granzow will join me on New Hope’s stage for a powerful conversation. You want to know what’s really going on in the local community with young people? Don’t miss this. You want to know how adults and parents can get more involved as role models, mentors, and accountability partners? Don’t miss this.
Please make it a priority to join us @ New Hope, Wednesday, August 23rd (this week!) 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
(Judd Granzow was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a professional baseball player out of High School. After a few years he stepped out of professional baseball and eventually became a member of the University of Tennessee’s football team (1998-2000). He was a linebacker for UT’s National Championship Team.)
See you Wednesday,
