He Still Moves Stones
Sundays 8:45am-9:45am
Meets at church (Room 4)
People with questions. The Bible is absolutely full of them! A crook on a cross. A wild man in a cemetery. A five-time divorcée. A despondent cripple. A grieving sister. A father at the end of his rope. Through these stories, it’s important to realize that the God who spoke to Moses at the burning bush still speaks to you today. The God who forgave King David still offers you forgiveness. The God who helped men and women in ages past still comes into your world, and he comes to do what you can’t, to move the stone away so you can see his answer. Join this Connect Group, studying best-selling author & pastor Max Lucado’s book He Still Moves Stones” to be reminded together that the God of old is the same yesterday today & tomorrow.

Work as Worship
Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm  (no book needed)
Home Group (meets in the 37027 Brentwood zip code)
Many Christians—from the CEO to the teacher to the stay-at-home mom—spend a great deal of time working and yet do not realize how their work intersects with their faith. They compartmentalize their faith to Sunday morning and see the rest of their week as having little to do with their walk with God. Scripture, however, makes no division between the sacred and secular parts of our lives. This Connect Group will help you consider why God has placed you in your current position and encourage you to look beyond how your job makes you feel and see purpose and significance in your work. Join Todd & Jennifer Craver in their home alongside Bill & Dena Scott, and together build lasting friendships while growing stronger in your faith.

WED-05

Leader : Joe Trafton
Turning Points/History of Christianity
Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm

Meets at church
Why is Christianity the way it is today? Why are there so many different denominations? Why do some churches dunk, and others sprinkle? Why do some use wine, and others grape juice? Why do churches have pastors, elders, deacons…and many more questions. In short, we might ask the question, How did we, the Church (not just New Hope), get to where we are after almost 2,000 years? Come join Professor Joe Trafton, a Biblical scholar of 38+ years at Western Kentucky University, as he continues our survey of the history of Christianity. You will be reading and discussing a book written by one of America’s most eminent church historians.  Who knows?  You might just learn a bit more about who you are as a member of the worldwide body of Christ, while meeting others on the same journey.
