A Bittersweet Goodbye

A message from our Communications Director…

New Hope!!!!!!

Well, a lot of you have already heard the news, but I wanted to share it publicly for those that have not heard. Sometime in February, John and I will be moving and consequently (sadly) leaving New Hope.

John and I sold our house in Donelson back in October which was a huge praise. However, we had not found a future home and were thankfully able to move in with a friend. Our plan was to stay in the Donelson area to be close to New Hope but also to not be too far from John’s parents who live in Lebanon, TN. After prayer, much conversation, and laboring over the decision, we felt God leading us to move closer to John’s folks as they struggle health-wise and we are the only family they have here in TN.

After looking at many options, God led us to the perfect home for us in Lebanon! It literally had everything we said we wanted and had placed on our checklist. How awesome!!!!! This was an extremely hard decision and a very bittersweet one. Of course, we are excited about our new home which we will move into early March, but we are extremely saddened to not be at New Hope. Although we have only attended New Hope 2.5 years, I have been a part of the New Hope staff and family for 8.5. There are so many at New Hope that I love dearly and Sundays for the last month have been so hard. That’s when I get to worship with you all and see the people that I know care about us. Not to mention all the awesome things that are happening at New Hope right now. Whew! Every week is a roller coaster of emotions.

There is excitement though and we know that this is the decision God has led us to make. I have no idea where we will attend church in the Spring and I have no idea what I will do work-wise at this point, but I’m excited to see where God leads us and me. I am also excited to see what God continues to do at New Hope. I know God’s timing is perfect and I also know He will provide the perfect person to fill my position and do so far beyond what I have been able.

New Hope, I love you all! I am praying for you! And I know God has HUGE things in store for you! I truly mean that.

Blessings to you all!
Liza
